The Sofa and Carpet Nap (Narrated by Craig Weinreich)
Some days I'm allowed to roam the first floor. This means I get to race
around the kitchen island several times, performing my high spirited little kick
(which Silver Moon hasn't been able to capture on camera yet) and then flop down
under the small green sofa that rests on top of the wool carpet. I don't
care for the new hardwood floors that they put in, but I really like the white
carpet that lives in the dining room under the sofa. It is so much fun to
dig and chew in. If Silver Moon catches me doing this, I'm usually yelled
at, then shushed out from underneath the sofa. I try to be quiet when I'm doing
this but you know, sometimes I'm so into digging that I forget that she might be
able to hear me. Lately, Silver Moon has taken to placing thin plywood
boards under the sofa, but hey, I'm a rabbit, I like to eat wood too!

There is an art in finding the perfect spot under the
sofa. First I have to scout everything out. |
| After I've checked all the
perimeters I like to turn around and position myself so that I can see
everything that can get at me. Here, it pays to be careful. |

It's real important to sniff
out the territory, then mark it with a few licks. The licks also
keep my white chin nice and clean. |
| Only after all my security
checks can I safely lay down under the sofa for some carpet chews and a nap. |

If I'm lucky enough to be out in the early morning, I can
take my nap in the sunlight, which streams in through the dining room
window. Now this is the life, don't you think? |
